This study aims to assess community satisfaction with the function and quality of green open space (GOS) at Pangkalan Balai City Park, Banyuasin Regency. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through questionnaires administered to park users who were at least 15 years old and had visited the park at least twice within a month. The assessment covered 15 indicators related to facilities, cleanliness, maintenance, safety, accessibility, vegetation, aesthetics, and noise levels. To obtain a comprehensive assessment, the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) was used to measure the overall level of community satisfaction, while Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) was employed to identify attributes requiring priority improvement. The results indicate that the CSI value reached 71.91%, placing overall community satisfaction in the moderately satisfied category. This finding suggests that, although the park has generally fulfilled users’ needs, several aspects still require improvement to better meet community expectations. In particular, the IPA results show that nighttime safety, lighting, cleanliness, waste-bin availability, and toilet facilities are priority areas because they are considered highly important by users but demonstrate relatively low performance. Conversely, vegetation, site accessibility, pedestrian pathways, and landscape aesthetics are perceived positively and should therefore be maintained. Overall, these findings provide an empirical basis for local government and park managers to establish more responsive management strategies by prioritizing improvements in safety, cleanliness, basic facilities, and accessibility while maintaining the park’s existing environmental and aesthetic qualities. Such efforts are expected to strengthen the function of Pangkalan Balai City Park as a safe, comfortable, inclusive, and sustainable public green space.
