This study aims to analyze the framing of online media coverage regarding the misrepresentation of the Garuda Pancasila symbol by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) during the commemoration of Pancasila Day on June 1, 2026. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis model through four structures, namely syntax, script, thematic, and rhetorical. Data were collected through documentation techniques on Indonesian online news articles that explicitly discussed the incident, then analyzed to identify emerging framing patterns. The results reveal four main framing patterns. First, the media framed the incident as an institutional irony highlighting the contradiction between BRIN's status as a research institution and its failure to verify the most fundamental aspect. Second, the media packaged the event as a reflection of ethical issues in the adoption of artificial intelligence technology in the government sector, emphasizing the importance of manual curation and validation. Third, the media highlighted the legal and sacred dimensions of the national symbol by referring to Law Number 24 of 2009, making the error appear as a serious violation. Fourth, the media framed BRIN's response ambivalently, appreciating the swift apology while still demanding tangible systemic improvement. This study concludes that online media do not merely convey information but actively construct reality and perform a social control function that shapes public understanding of institutional responsibility, technological ethics, and respect for the symbol of national sovereignty.
