Abstract

Delay in patient treatment in hospitals often occurs due to the limitations of conventional emergency communication systems such as manual bells or hard buttons, which are difficult for patients with physical disabilities to use. This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based emergency alarm system using an ESP32 microcontroller with a capacitive touch sensor as input, and realtime notification via the Telegram application. The research method applied is Rapid Application Development (RAD) with a prototyping approach. The designed system activates a local buzzer and automatically sends notifications to nurses through a Telegram Bot. Test results indicate that the system works properly, sends notifications quickly, and is easy to operate without special technical training. This system is expected to improve medical staff responsiveness to patient emergencies and enhance healthcare service quality.
