Abstract

Student management plays an important role in shaping and improving student discipline as one of the educational goals. Student discipline is a factor that supports the creation of an orderly and conducive learning environment. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, evaluation, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors of student management in improving student discipline at MIS Veteran RI Kandris. This study uses field research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of the madrasah principal, student affairs teachers, class teachers, and students. The object of the research is student management in improving student discipline. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model which includes data condensation, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. Data validity was tested through source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation. The research results indicate that student management in improving student discipline at MIS Veteran RI Kandris has been implemented through three main functions: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Planning is carried out through the development of a program for fostering student discipline and discipline. Implementation is carried out through habituation, supervision, role modeling, and providing rewards and guidance to students. Evaluation is conducted periodically through meetings and analysis of student discipline data. Supporting factors include the principal's commitment, teacher cooperation, clear rules, and a conducive madrasah environment. Inhibiting factors include the influence of the family environment, low awareness among some students, and limited supervision.
