Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to higher education, particularly in learning activities and the completion of academic assignments. On one hand, AI provides convenience in accessing information and generating ideas; on the other hand, it increases the risk of plagiarism when used without proper academic ethics. This Community Service Program (PkM) aimed to enhance students’ understanding and awareness of the importance of academic integrity as a strategy to prevent plagiarism in the era of Artificial Intelligence at Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH). The program employed an educational-participatory approach through socialization sessions, seminars, interactive discussions, case studies, and mentoring on the ethical and responsible use of AI. The results indicated that students gained a better understanding of academic integrity principles, various forms of plagiarism in the digital era, and the appropriate boundaries of AI utilization in academic activities. Furthermore, the program successfully increased students’ awareness of using AI as a learning support tool while maintaining academic honesty. Strengthening academic integrity and AI literacy proved to be essential in fostering an honest, responsible, and sustainable academic culture at Universitas Pelita Harapan.
