DAMPAK REHABILITASI JARINGAN IRIGASI SAWAH TERHADAP PRODUKTIVITAS PETANI DI DESA CIGINGGANG

Rehabilitation of irrigation networks is one of the important efforts in maintaining the sustainability of agricultural activities, particularly on rice fields that are highly dependent on water availability and distribution. Damage to irrigation networks can lead to suboptimal water distribution and potentially hinder farmers' productivity. This article aims to analyze the impact of rice field irrigation network rehabilitation on farmers' productivity in Ciginggang Village. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach through field observations, interviews with farmers and relevant stakeholders, and documentation of rehabilitation activities. The observations revealed that irrigation network rehabilitation brought changes to the physical condition of the channels and the smoothness of water distribution to the rice fields. The network improvements enabled more regular irrigation and assisted farmers in carrying out cultivation activities. These effects are linked to agricultural productivity, as water availability is a crucial factor in the rice production process. Nevertheless, the success of rehabilitation is not solely determined by physical network improvements, but also by maintenance and community involvement in preserving the sustainability of irrigation functions. Therefore, irrigation network rehabilitation must be accompanied by sustainable management and maintenance so that its benefits can be felt by farmers in the long term.
