PENGARUH PEMANFAATAN AI DALAM PEMBELAJARAN TERHADAP KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR SISWA DENGAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SEBAGAI MEDIASI DI SMKN 14 JAKARTA

This study aims to examine the effect of Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilization in learning on students’ self-directed learning, with learning motivation as a mediating variable among eleventh-grade students of SMKN 14 Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative survey method. The population consisted of 324 students, and 179 students were selected as the sample using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error and simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4. The results show that (1) AI utilization in learning has a positive and significant effect on both self-directed learning and (2) learning motivation, while (3) learning motivation also has a positive and significant effect on self-directed learning. In addition, (4) learning motivation partially mediates the relationship between AI utilization and self-directed learning. These findings indicate that the more effectively AI is utilized in learning, the higher students’ learning motivation and self-directed learning will be. This study is expected to serve as a reference for schools and educators in developing AI-based learning strategies to enhance students’ motivation and self-directed learning.
